WILLIAMS, MAUREEN - Erin Maureen (Adair) Williams died suddenly at the age of 69 due to a car accident in New Brunswick on July 12th. Maureen was born in Quebec and grew up in the greater Saint John area. She graduated from Saint John General Hospital nursing school in 1961 and relocated to Sacramento, Calif. where she met her husband and best friend Robert (Bob) Williams. Maureen initially worked as a labor and delivery nurse and in a cardiac unit and eventually moved into the vocational rehabilitation field. Maureen retired in 1996, after establishing a successful vocation rehabilitation consultancy in Sacramento. Maureen and Bob have enjoyed their retirement together by traveling and spending time with family in Carmichael, CA and Mactaquac, NB. Maureen is survived by her husband Bob, with whom she recently celebrated their 38th wedding anniversary, and by their daughters Tamara and Shannon, her mother E. Kaye Adair, and her siblings Robin, Terry and Danny Adair, and Elaine Smith. Maureen was a dedicated wife and mother whose life was an expression of care and concern for others; she used her boundless energy and deep spiritual faith to touch all those she encountered. Her positive energy and supportive attitude was enjoyed and admired by all who knew her, especially her dear friends and family. Always eager to help those in need, she was active in many volunteer projects in the Fredericton area and recently served with a medical relief organization in Haiti. Maureen spent her life learning and seeking truth while enthusiastically encouraging and supporting others to reach for their dreams. In this spirit, a memorial scholarship will be established in Maureen's name at the University of New Brunswick.
