HUGH FIELDING POND
POND, HUGH FIELDING - The death of Hugh Fielding Pond of Fredericton, NB, occurred on his 100th birthday, Wednesday, July 20, 2005 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, Fredericton, NB. Born in Ludlow, NB, he was a son of the late Mellow and Iva (Hovey) Pond. Mr. Pond was a member of the Marysville United Church and a former member of the Odd Fellows. He is survived by one son, Arthur Pond (Teresa) of Seattle, Washington; two daughters, Hughena Baker (Stuart) of Rothesay and Audrey Long of Quesnel, BC; five grandchildren, Christian, Elisa, Paul, Kenneth and Terry and five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Clarence Pond (Lena) of Saint John, NB and Reginald Pond (Ruth) of Fredericton, NB; two sisters, Georgia Welch of Fredericton and Beatrice Johnston (Ronald) of McAdam; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Pond was predeceased by his first wife, Marion Pond; his second wife, Helen Pond; his son-in-law, Graeme Long; one brother, Albert Pond and three sisters, Marjorie McNally, Leola Jewett and Iva Currie. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 23rd, 2005 at 11 am from York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel with Rev. John Roy officiating. Interment will be held in the Mactaquac Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
