BENSON, GRACE DONALDSON (PARKHILL) - The death of Grace Donaldson (Parkhill) Benson, wife of the late John Edward Benson, occurred on August 11, 2005 at York Manor Nursing Home. Born on May 16, 1924 in Saint John, NB, she was a daughter of the late Samuel J. and Etta V. (Donaldson) Parkhill. Grace retired from the Unemployment Insurance Branch of the Federal Government. She had a real passion for her family, classical music, antiques, paintings and crossword puzzles. She is survived by her son, John Benson (Colleen) of Fredericton, NB; two daughters, Jane Gay (Jim) of New Market, ON and Janet Blanchard (Paul) of Fredericton, NB; seven grandchildren, Kaitlin, Emily, Patrick, Nicholas, Erika, John and Michael; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she is predeceased by her brother John Parkhill. Although there will be no visitation by request of the family, a Public Memorial Service will be held on Monday, August 15, 2005 at 4 pm from York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel with Rev. Paul Ross officiating. For those who wish, remembrances made to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
