HUGHES, ARTHUR R. - The death of Arthur R. Hughes of Bloomfield, husband of Julie Hughes occurred after a brief illness, August 24, 2005, at his residence. He was born at Saint John, son of the late Arthur and Jessie (Riach) Hughes. Arthur served with the R.C.A.F. during WWII. He was an Elder and choir member at St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, Hampton. He worked for N.B. Housing and the Department of Labour retiring in 1990. Surviving besides his wife Julie are one daughter Gillian Urquhart (Percy), Bloomfield; one son David Hughes (Tina), Saint John; two sisters Betty Garland, Ottawa, Bernice Duerr, Stanford, Connecticut; one brother Ralph Hughes, Saint John; five grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Resting at Reid's Funeral Home (832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, with visiting Saturday 2pm - 8pm. The funeral will be held Sunday, 3:00 pm, at St. Paul's Presbyterian Church with Rev. Kent Burdett officiating. Interment in Big Rock Cemetery, Bloomfield. Memorials to the Music Ministry of St. Paul's Presbyterian Church or the Extra-Mural Program would be appreciated.
