HERSEY, ROBERT "JACK" - Seventy-one, of New Minas, Nova Scotia passed away Saturday, October 22, 2005 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Saint John New Brunswick, he was a son of the late Robert and Mabel (Leary) Hersey. He was a graduate of Saint John Vocational School and later moved to New Minas where he was employed with the village for 15 years as foreman of New Minas Parks and Recreation. He was a former member of the New Minas Lions Club and until the time of his death has been an active member of the Kings Citizen's Patrol, working extensively with the Kings Detachment of the R.C.M.P. He is survived by his wife, the former Paulette Croft; three children, Ellen Gallant, Saint John; Sarah (Colin) Hale, Welland, Ontario; Mark (Susan), Dartmouth; a brother, D. Fred (Shirley), Saint John; eight grandchildren, Stephen, Krystal, Justin, Angela, Benjamin, Justin, Christopher and Mitchell; nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7- 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 25, 2005 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where a funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 26, 2005 Reverend Robert Billings officiating. Burial will take place in the Pereau Cemetery, Kings County. Family flowers only, by request. Donations in memory may be made to the Kings Citizen's Patrol c/o the Kings Detachment of the R.C.M.P.
