McCRACKEN, JOYCE ANITA (PERKINS) - Age 76, of Fredericton Junction passed away on October 22, 2005 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital following a lengthy illness. Joyce is survived by two sons Michael of Fredericton Junction and Greg (Kathie) of Fergus, Ontario, one daughter Holly Blaikie (Douglas) of New Maryland; a sister Lilian Phillips of Gagetown; a brother Alvin Perkins of Grand Bay; 10 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by her husband Lloyd C. McCracken, her parents Charles and Caroline Perkins, one son Terry McCracken and his wife Martha (Joan), as well as three brothers Hibbert, Wallace and Neil. Joyce was a faithful member of the Fredericton Junction United Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. She was employed for many years as a seamstress at Creaghans. Joyce will be remembered by many brides and bridesmaids for the beautiful gowns that she created for them. She enjoyed quilting and made many beautiful handicrafts. Joyce taught school for a brief time and, together with her husband, helped establish a farm in the Fredericton Junction area. She was a kind and loving mother who adored her grandchildren and enjoyed having family and friends around her. In recent years Joyce enjoyed her flower gardens and traveling. Joyce's deep faith and cheerful attitude were an inspiration to all who knew her. She will be deeply missed. Relatives and friends are invited to Sunbury Funeral Home for visitation on Monday, October 24 from 2-4 and 7-9. Her funeral service will be held from the Fredericton Junction United Baptist Church on Tuesday at 3 PM with Rev. James Harrison officiating. Interment to follow in the Gladstone Cemetery.
