CAROL M. (NEE DeROCHE) FORSYTHE
FORSYTHE, CAROL M. (NEE DeROCHE)- Passed away on Saturday October 29, 2005 at her home with her family by her side. Carol was born in Saint John, NB on April 11, 1942, the daughter of Mark J. DeRoche and the late Alice Clair DeRoche (nee Kervin). She will be sadly missed by her husband Darryl "Al" Forsythe; her daughters Colleen (Joerg) Soltermann of Cornwall PEI, Shawn (Hugh) Poirier of Stellarton NS, Kelly-Jo (Stephen) Melanson of Moncton, NB; her sons Tim (Lise) of Moncton, NB, Jeff (Bill) of Toronto and Mark of Moncton; nine grandchildren Sarah, Tanya and Marlise Soltermann; Aaron and Trevor Poirier, Rebecca and Grace Melanson; and Eric and Melodie Forsythe. She is also survived by her brothers Mark DeRoche of Kanata ON and Peter DeRoche of Winnipeg MB; her foster sisters Phyllis Miller of Calgary AB and Eileen Malone of Fredericton NB; her foster brother Norman Larracey of Moncton, NB; her sister-in-law Sharie Forsythe of Dartmouth NS; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Besides her mother, Carol is predeceased by her foster parents Elsie and Ellis Larracey; her foster sisters Lynda Duffy and Lois Dillon; also by her foster brother Allan Larracey. A graduate of Notre Dame d'Acadie and Teachers College, Carol worked for Statistics Canada for 29 years before retiring in April of 2003. Her passion included her grandchildren and playing bridge with her worldwide friends. She also was an avid curler and enjoyed so much traveling with the Golden Girls. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. Peter Stoddard, Dr. Sitland, Dr. Assi, and Dr. Rubin, to the nurses on the 5th and 6th floors of the Moncton Hospital and to the extra-mural nurses for the wonderful care they provided to Carol. A special thank-you goes out to her dear friends Barbie, Lorna, Deannie, Jean, Gert and Donna, as well as to her long time friend and confidante Aline; their support was very greatly appreciated. The family will be receiving relatives and friends at Tuttle Bros. Funeral Home , 171 Lutz St. on Wednesday November 2, 2005 from 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 pm A memorial service will be held at St. Michaels Roman Catholic Church on Thursday November 3, 2005 at 11:00am with Father Phil Mulligan officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Moncton Lions Sick Children's Fund, or the Neurological Unit at the IWK Children's Health Center would be appreciated by her family.
