IRVING, JOHN ALEXANDER - 1923-2005. John Alexander Irving, son of William and Rubina (Currie) Irving. Born on May 22, 1923 in Millbank NB., and died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving wife Mary (Harrigan) and his family. Sons Brian (Victoria), Timothy (Laurel), daughters, Mary (Harold Hitchman), Jennie (Joseph LeGresley), Jacqueline (Allen Allain) and Ruth (Bernie Gould). He was predeceased by his son James. He is also survived by ten grandchildren Sean, Bradley, Cara and Beth Anne Hitchman, Anna and Douglas Irving, Jonathan and Malia Allain, David and Michael Gould. He was a "real veteran" of World War II. A member of the Carleton-York Regiment and N.B. Rangers. As an accomplished musician he entertained many people. He was a business man who established the largest music store in New Brunswick. He was well respected for his knowledge of music and traveled throughout the maritimes for piano tunings and professional concert consultations. He was known throughout the community as being a very generous man with a Big Heart. He treated rich and poor alike. "Jack" traveled to Hawaii with his family on 27 separate occasions. He was an avid boater and enjoyed his cottage life. He was a member of the All Saints Parish Council and served his community well. He will be sadly missed by his family and all who knew him. Visitation with family and friends was held at his residence at 3019 King George Highway on Tuesday from 7-9. Mass of Christian burial was held on Wednesday at 11 am from All Saints Roman Catholic Church. Fr. Brian Wetmore Celebrant, Con-celebrants were Fr. Henry McGrath, Fr. Leon Creamer, Fr. Sam Diotte, Fr. Walter Lynch, Fr. Leo Sullivan and Fr. John Gratton. Active pallbearers were Charlie Martin, David Gould, Michael Gould, Sean Hitchman, Bradley Hitchman, Douglas Irving, David Govereau. Interment in Church Cemetery.
