Alice Hannha (Dowe Foster) Lowther Alice Hannha (Dowe Foster) Lowther, age 79, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 31, 2009 at Gables Lodge, Amherst. Born in 1929 at Wards Brooks, Cumberland County, NS, she was the daughter of the late Norby and Marjorie (Hughes) Dowe. Alice enjoyed crafts, knitting, hunting, fishing and all outdoor activities. She loved her family and especially her grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by her children, Shirley (Peet) Huberg, Hastings, Marie Johnson, Fort Assiniboin, AB, Charles Foster, Mayerthorpe, AB, Barbie Foster, Hastings, Audrey Foster, White Court, AB; 16 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; brothers, Ronnie (Edith) Dowe, Trenton, ON, Jake Dowe, BC; sisters Irene Seaman, Dartmouth, NS, Mary (Clark) Corbett, Advocate, NS, Mildred Weir, Salisbury, NB. She was predeceased by her first husband Percy Foster, her second husband Alvin Lowther, and sister Dorothy Weir. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Furlong~Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church St., Amherst, NS (902-667-8777). A memorial service will be held in the Hastings United Church on June 26, 2009 (her 80th birthday) at 2 pm. Burial will follow in the Hastings Cemetery.
