NICKERSON, HERBERT FREDERICK - of Woodstock, husband of Sara J. (Sally) (Anderson) Nickerson, passed away at the Carleton Memorial Hospital on Sunday, November 13, 2005, at the age of 92. Born at Doctor's Cove, Nova Scotia, he was a son of the late Captain Everett and Adelaide (Kenney) Nickerson. Herbert was employed with the Bank of Montreal for forty-two years in several branches, and was Branch Manager in New Glasgow, Dartmouth, Perth-Andover, and Truro. He was a Veteran of World War II, serving four years in the army with the rank of Captain (Adjutant). In addition to his wife of 62 years, Herbert is survived by a daughter, Jean O'Neill (Robert) of Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia; a son, Douglas Nickerson (Jeri) of Calgary, Alberta; grandchildren Catherine O'Neill and Jeffrey O'Neill of Lower Sackville, and Jamie Nickerson and Kevin Nickerson of Calgary; a brother, Burnley Nickerson (Shirley) of Yarmouth, Nova Scotia; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Herbert was predeceased by a son, Kenneth Nickerson; and one brother, Reginald Nickerson. Resting at The Scott Funeral Home, 815 Main Street, Woodstock, with visiting on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 1:00 pm from the Scott Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Fred Snyder will be officiating, with interment in the Presbyterian Cemetery, Andover, New Brunswick. www.scottfh.com
