SIBYL GREEN HARDING
HARDING, SIBYL GREEN - Sibyl Green Harding, 96, of Qualicum Beach, B.C. passed away at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital, Nanaimo, B.C. on November 15, 2005 after a brief illness. Born in Perth, N.B. on Oct 15, 1909, she was the daughter of the late Mark and Ruby (Green) Anderson. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Frank Harding and by one brother, Stephen Anderson (Rita) Belleville, ON, two sisters Ruth Schwabe (Robert), Riverside, Calif. and Sarah Day, Murrieta, Calif., special niece Ruby Northrup (Kirk), Keremeos, B.C., special nephew Gilbert Anderson, Qualicum Beach and many other nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by four brothers, Tom, Borden, Sam and Clinton Anderson and a niece Sibyl Grace Briggs. The family moved from Perth to Plaster Rock and as a young woman in Plaster Rock and surrounding area Sibyl worked as a practical nurse assisting the local doctor in home childbirth delivery staying on a short time with the family to care for mother and new baby. In 1946 she married Frank Harding and together they moved to British Columbia in 1951. Her husband Frank and brother Clinton owned and operated a general store for over 20 years in Madeira Park, B.C. and Sibyl assisted with the clerical work. After retiring, Sibyl and Frank moved to Qualicum Beach, on Vancouver Island. Her many interests kept her busy and they enjoyed having old friends from Tobique stop by. She was keenly interested in genealogy and as the oldest survivor of her generation will be sadly missed by the family as the one who was always there to recall years gone by. Cremation by Yates Funeral Service, Qualicum Beach. Memorial service and burial will take place at a later date.
