COPELAND, CALVIN RAYMOND - The death of Calvin Raymond Copeland, of Bloomfield Ridge, husband of Queenie (Bruce) nee. Hovey Copeland occurred on Saturday, December 3, 2005 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, Fredericton, NB. Born in Erin, Ontario on July 26th, 1927, he was a son of the late Stanley Herbert and Eleanor (Denison) Copeland. Upon his retirement as a manager with Air Canada Mr. Copeland worked with the Central New Brunswick Woodsman's Museum where he later became President and a Director. He was a Past President with the Miramichi Board of Trade, member of the United Commercial Travelers of America since 1956, currently a member of the UCT Fredericton Council. Mr. Copeland was a life member of the Fredericton Golden Club, was a 10 year serving brother with the Boiestown Brigade of the Saint John Ambulance and a member of the Boiestown United Church. Besides his wife he is survived by one brother Erlin Copeland of BC; one sister Mary Hurd of Godrich ON; step-children Cathy Nash (Keith) of Porter Cove, Holly Bruce of Boiestown, Lorne Bruce (Renee) of Biddeford, Maine; seven very special grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he is predeceased by his first wife Cherry Helena (Munn) Copeland; two brothers, Gordon and Wesley; sister Eldrid Salmon and step-daughter Tina( Bruce) Munn. There will be no visitation by request. All are welcome to attend a funeral service which will be held at Miramichi Valley Funeral Home, New Bandon on Tuesday, December 6, 2005 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Brian MacDonald and Rev. Beverly Daly officiating. Pallbearers will be Francis Smith, Manley Black, Ken Grabowski, Scott Clowater, Don Ross, and Duane Hovey. Honourary Pallbearers will be Winston MacKay, Sterling McNeish, Everette Hovey, and Vaughn Ross. Interment will be in the Boiestown United Church Cemetery. Reception to follow in the Theatre Room of Central New Brunswick Woodsman's Museum. For those who wish, in lieu of flowers remembrances to the Boiestown United Church Building Fund of to the Palliative Care Unit of the Chalmers Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
