ZIGANTE, ELDA ANTONIA - On Monday, December 5, 2005, surrounded by her loving family, Elda Zigante passed away peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Wife of the late Ivan Zigante (1991), Elda was born in Croatia, a daughter to the late Viktor and Josipa Jerman. Elda was employed in the bakery at Sobeys Rothesay for nearly two decades where she made wonderful friends and came to be known to all as "Nona". She was an avid gardener and her plants were her passion. Just as she lovingly tended her garden, so did she tend to her family. "Nona" adored her children and her beautiful grandchildren, the light of her life. Her gentle, loving personality, fabulous home cooked family dinners and her maternal guidance will be a blessing to be remembered for years to come. Elda is survived by her son Alen (Tammy) Zigante, Quispamsis, NB and their children Mila, Jack, and Isabella; daughter Adrijana Zigante, Rothesay, NB.; and many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles overseas. In addition to her parents and husband Ivan, Elda was predeceased by her two brothers in Croatia. Resting at Castle "King's Chapel" Funeral Home, 154 Hampton Road, Rothesay, NB (849-1702) with visitation Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, December 9, 2005 at 12 noon from Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Rothesay, NB. Interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery, followed by a reception at the Church.
