Passed peacefully away at the Harbour Lodge, Carbonear on Friday, July 18, 2008, George Spooner of Brigus, aged 86 years. Left to mourn with precious memories his wife Marion (nee Bishop) of 65 years; sister Allison Newell; children: Betty Lou (Melvin) Stevens, Allison (Bill) Newell, Gary (Wendy), Bill (Norma), Dianne (Norman) Hillier, Glenys (Paul) Anthony, twelve grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren, also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Resting at Broughton's Funeral Home, Brigus with visitation on Saturday from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m., 2 p.m. - 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. - 9:30 p.m., Sunday from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m., 2 p.m. - 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. - 9:30 p.m., Monday from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. Funeral to take place on Monday, July 21, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. from the Brigus United Church with interment to follow in the United Church Cemetery, Brigus.
