BATES, ROYDEN COLEMAN - The death of Royden C. Bates, age 93, Husband of the late Bessie E. (McEwen) Bates, of Hampton, NB, formerly of Long Point, occurred at the Marysview Special Care Home, Hampton, December 13, 2005. He was the son of the late Robert and Matilda (Coleman) Bates. Royden is survived by his daughters; Ruth Ganong, Kiersteadville, Marilyn Mitton, Georgetown, ON and Kathy Markey and Carl Williams, Rothesay, and sons; George and Ilyne Zacharias, Calgary, and Doug, Calgary, ten grandchildren; Jamie, Dwight, Beverley, Sean, Janet, Bonnie, Amy, Megan, Jenny, and Tracey, thirteen great grandchildren; Sam, Jessica, Adam, Daniel, Corey, Craig, Maureen, Kathleen, Clare, Stefan, Taylor, Derek and Erika, sister-in-law, Isabel Campbell, Smiths Falls, ON, nieces Marie Boles, Pickwauket, and Betty Millican, Quispamsis. Predeceased by brother Ronald. Resting at Sherwood's Funeral Home, (839-2156) 18 Scovil Road, Norton, NB. Visiting will be Friday, 3 to 8 p.m. Funeral service will be held from Kiersteadville United Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 17, 2005, followed by a private family interment in Kiersteadville Cemetery.
