DIGGLE, LEONA MARIE - On December 21, 2005, Marie Diggle, wife of the late William Diggle, passed away peacefully at her residence. Born in Saint John West on August 3, 1915, she was the daughter of the late George "Harry" and Lena (DeForest) Fitzgerald. Marie was employed by Canada Post, Rothesay and retired after 28 years of service. She was a past member of the Hampton Golf Club and she really loved to travel. She also enjoyed gardening, animals, and birds, especially the pheasants that visited her regularly. She was a loving aunt to Marie Marsh, Shirley March McFee (Ian), Elaine McFate (Roland) and Marilyn Gogan, all of Saint John. Marie will also be missed by several great nieces and nephews and several great great nieces and nephews. Aunt Marie loved her family and had a special way that touched everyone who knew and loved her. She was always there when they needed her. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, William, her first husband, Jack Hodgson, two infant children, brothers; Stanley, James and Reginald Fitzgerald, as well as sisters; Phyllis Carlow and Florence Marsh. Visitation will be held from Castle "Kings Chapel" Funeral Home, 154 Hampton Road, Rothesay (849-1702) on Friday, December 23, 2005 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A private service will be held from Kings Chapel. Memorial donations in memory of Marie may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Interment will be held in St. Luke's Anglican Cemetery, Gondola Point at a later date.
