CPO JOHN WARWICK McMASTER

McMASTER, CPO JOHN WARWICK - CPO John Warwick McMaster, age 82, of Halifax passed away December 28, 2005 at the Palliative Care Unit of the Victoria General Hospital. Born in Oshawa, Ontario on September 23, 1923, he was the son of the late John and Beatrice (Davis) McMaster. John joined the Navy at an early age and was soon engaged into WWII and later the Korean Conflict. After a period of time and experience, he achieved the rank of Chief Petty Officer, retiring after 30 years of service. John then went on to Dalhousie University to pursue his love of steam and became Chief of the Heating Plant for 18 years. He is survived by daughter Elizabeth (Roland Scott), Sackville, NS, sister Barb Lepine, Peterborough, Ont., one grandchild Christopher Murphy, Sackville, NS. Predeceased by his wife of 41 years the former Kathleen Rowe. Cremation has taken place under the direction of the Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Drive, NS. Burial at sea will take place during The Battle of the Atlantic Commemorative Ceremonies in May. We would like to express our extreme gratitude to the Palliative Care Unit of the QEII for their care and support. Donations may be made to the Last Post Fund or Canadian Cancer Society. John will be lovingly missed by all who knew him. "Ready Aye Ready"
