Passed peacefully away on Saturday, July 19, 2008 in the presence of his family at the Health Sciences Centre. Kenneth Coates aged 76 years. Leaving to mourn his wife of 52 years: Alma Coates (nee Hudson); seven children: Susan, Doris Mahon (Alex), Eugene (Mary), Judy Kelly (Terry), Bonnie Codner (David), Dawn Green (Melvin) and Shirley; fifteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren whom he loved dearly; two sisters: Meta Pitcher and Annie Banton; sisters-in-law: Jean Coates and Marigold Coates; brothers-in-law: Ralph Hudson (Ethelwynne) and Harrison Hudson (Doris) as well as many other relatives and friends. Resting at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Sunday and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Funeral service will take place from Pouch Cove Memorial United Church on Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at 2:30 p.m. Interment will follow at the United Cemetery, Pouch Cove.
