HAROLD NORMAN WITHERLY

WITHERLY, HAROLD NORMAN - 86, of New Minas, Kings County, passed away Sunday, January 22, 2006 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Plaster Rock, New Brunswick, he was a son of the late Brooke and Grace (Wright) Witherly. He was a veteran of the Second World War, having served with the Canadian Armed Forces as a tank mechanic and was stationed in Holland at the time of the liberation. He is survived by his wife, the former Evelyn (Aiton) Simmons; a daughter, Sarah (Bob) McAusland, Austrailia; a son, Dale (Anne), British Columbia; step-children, Veronica Anne James and Russell Simmons, both of Ontario; a sister, Pauline Manuel, Ottawa; three grandchildren, Jessica, Kyle and Robin; two step-grand children, Blake and Simone; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, the former Mildred Quinn; two sisters, Marion and Hazel; a brother, Bruce. Cremation has taken place under the direction of the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. At Harold's request, there will be no visitiatin or funeral service. Donations in memory may be made to the Heart andStroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville.
