OAKES, ALICE - 83, of Connors New Brunswick passed away at the Edmundston Regional Hospital February 12, 2006. She was the wife of the late Thomas Oakes. Alice was born in Connors, August 17, 1922 and is survived by her brothers Andre and Rene of Connors and her sister Jeannette Babineau of London Ontario. Alice is also survived by her four daughters and four sons: Claudette Bernier of Sussex New Brunswick, Rachel Ouellet of Southington Connecticut, Raymond of Carmel New York, Jean of Trumbull Connecticut, Marie Charpentier of Meriden Connecticut, Arthur of Wallingford Connecticut, Richard of Carmel New York and Dianne Gwara of Poughkeepsie New York. Alice was predeceased by her son Jacques. Alice has 19 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Arrangements are under the care of J.B. Cote Funeral Home. Visiting hours at the Connors Church Hall will be Wednesday February 15th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm, Thursday February 16, 9am followed by the funeral at 11am.
