HELEN (MCMULLIN) STEVENS

STEVENS, HELEN (MCMULLIN) - of Willow Grove, widow of the late Bede Alexander (Pete) Stevens passed away at the SJRH on Wednesday, February 15, 2006. Born in Glace Bay, NS she was the daughter of the late Hugh and Ellen (Nolan) McMullin of Glace Bay. Helen served in the RCAF (W.D's) during World War II from 1942 until 1945. She was an active member of St. Joseph's Church Loch Lomond and was a member of Jervis Bay Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion and a life member on the auxiliary. She is survived by two daughters; Marjorie Sullivan of Douglas, NB and Ellen Sommerville of Saint John, NB, two sons; Matthew (Colleen) of Hartland, NB and Alex of Ontario, seven grandchildren and two great granddaughters. She is also survived by five sisters and two sister-in-laws; Helen Case and Catherine Stevens. Helen is predeceased by her parents, her husband, two sisters and four brothers. She is also predeceased by a special niece and god-daughter Cleo Rhodes of Glace Bay, NS. Resting at A. W. Cavanagh Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 91 Leinster Street (634-1712) with visiting on Friday 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held on Saturday in the A.W. Cavanagh Chapel at 11:00 am followed by interment in the Cedar Hill Extension, Field of Honor and a reception at Cavanagh's Funeral Home. A tribute to a Veteran Service will take place at 7 pm on Friday evening.
