Eileen Hilda Moir

Sackville, N.B. -The death of Eileen Hilda Moir, age 95, of Sackville occurred at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, December 4, 2007. Born in Penshurst, Kent, England, she was a daughter of the Late Alexander and Edith (Davis) Rogers. Mrs. Moir immigrated to Canada with her family on April 1, 1929 settling in Tidnish, NB. After her marriage to Raymond she moved to Mt. Whatley where she was active in church and community life, moving to Sackville in 1981. She is survived by three daughters, Barbara MacBeth, North York, ON, Kathleen (Peter) Michels, Moncton, Dinah Moir (Robert Fillmore), Point de Bute; sister Cicely Slack (Douglas), Oxford, NS; brother Leonard (Olga) Rogers, Winnipeg, MN; seven grandchildren, David, Paul (Nisha) and Blair MacBeth, Sonya and Rob Michels and Todd and Noel (Maureen) Goodwin and two great grandchildren, Rachel and Matthew. She was predeceased by her husband Raymond Moir in 1981; sister Joyce Coates; son-in-law Gordon MacBeth. Arrangements were entrusted to Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville (506-364-1300). There was no visitation. A funeral service followed by a reception took place at Jones Funeral Home on Friday, Dec. 7, 2007 at 2 p.m., Rev. Father Kevin Stockall officiating. Burial will take place in the Amherst Cemetery in the spring.
