
BERYL M. (BYRNE) WRIGHT
WRIGHT, BERYL M. (BYRNE) - 87, of Newton, New Hampshire died Saturday afternoon at her home. She was the wife of the late Donald Prescott Wright who died July 27, 1989. Born in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada, she was the daughter of the late James E. and Lucretia M. (Rouse) Byrne and was a graduate of St. Vincent High School and went on to graduate from the Parker School of Nursing in Montreal, Quebec in 1943. She was very active in community work in Haverhill serving as past president of the Haverhill Day Nursery, past president of the Women's City Club and past president of the Boys Club Auxiliary. She was a member of the Executive Board of the Haverhill Red Cross for thirty years receiving the meritorious Clara Barton Award for her leadership and volunteer work with the American Red Cross, and was a member of the Haverhill Historical Society, and the Hale Hospital Auxiliary. Mrs. Wright was listed in the Who's Who in American Women and the Who's Who in the East. She was a longtime communicant of Mary Mother of the Church in Newton. Her survivors include her brother George J. Byrne of Saint John, New Brunswick, her sister Lois J. Nugent of Fredericton, New Brunswick, her brother-in-law David C. Wright of Clinton, WA, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Services from Paul C. Rogers & Sons Family Funeral Home, 334 Main Street, Haverhill will be Tuesday at 9:00 followed by a funeral mass at 10:00 am at Mary Mother of the Church, Amesbury Road, Newton, NH. Interment will be in Bartlett Cemetery, Amesbury. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Monday from 6:30 to 9 pm.
