SMITH, MARY ELIZABETH - The death of Mary Elizabeth Smith, of Hickey Road, occurred on Tuesday March 7, 2006 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born 1939 in Saint John she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Letitia (Peacock) Pursey. Mary was a supporter of the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation and the Canadian Cancer Society. She is survived by her children Brian W. Smith of Saint John, S. Elaine Barriault (Shawn) of Ajax, Ontario, Kevin C. Smith of Saint John and Bonnie J. Machum of Saint John; grandchildren Chris, Ashley, Lynn, Shawn, Matthew, Tamra and Darcy; brothers George W. Pursey of Fisher Lake, Alberta and Robert P. Pursey of Saint John; sister Joan M. Stafford of Saint John; three aunts Martha Peacock of Sussex, Grace Peacock of Hampton and Mabel Pursey of Saint John; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Clyde Smith, brothers Frank and Douglas and sister Frances. Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) with visitations on Thursday March 9, 2006 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Friday March 10, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Ocean View Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
