SMALL, ZELMA BLANCHE - Zelma Blanche Small, 87; of North Head passed away at the Grand Manan Nursing Home on Thursday April 13th, 2006. Born in Whale Cove, Digby County, NS she was the daughter of the late Donald and Myrtle (Frost) Tidd. Blanche as she was known by many was a faithful and loving Christian and participated as treasurer and a teacher of the Sunday school, and choir member at the North Head Wesleyan Church. She was a member of the Wesleyan Women's Missionary Society. She also worked as an office clerk for Connors Brothers and later at the Grand Manan Hospital until her retirement in 1984. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends. Survived by one daughter Janice Small of North Head, NB, four sons Stanley (Arlene) Small of Browns Flat, NB, Earl Small of North Head, NB, Gregory (Ronna) Small, of North Head, NB, Merrill (Laura) Small of North Head, NB, one sister Mrs. Donna (Perry) Ellis of Woodwards Cove, NB, two brothers Mr. Ainsley (Elma) Tidd and Mr. Wayne (Wanda) Tidd both of Little River, NS, ten grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, three step-great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Fletcher, two grandsons Randy and Dean, three sisters Alda Sweeney, Edna Donaldson, Sadie Tidd, and one brother Dean Tidd. Resting at Ells Funeral Home Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The Funeral Service will be held from the North Head Wesleyan Church Saturday April 15th, 2006 at 1:30 PM with Rev. Charles Bain officiating, internment to follow at the Maple Grove Cemetery. The family has requested donations may be made to the North Head Wesleyan Church or to a charity of the donors choice.
