ROY JOSEPH STEVENS

STEVENS, ROY JOSEPH - The death of Roy Joseph Stevens, of East Saint John, loving husband of Olive Stevens, occurred peacefully at his residence on Tuesday April 25, 2006. Born 1929 in Montreal, Quebec he was the son of the late Roy and Mary (Cotton) Stevens. Roy was a loving family man and a hard worker. He was a Painter for the Saint John Dry dock retiring in 1995 after 45 years. He was also a member of Local # 3 Marine Shipbuilders of Canada. He is survived by two sons Brian (Lynn) of Gondola Point and Carl (Lucy) of Saint John; four daughters Mary Creamer (Dwight) of Rothesay, Dianne LeBlanc (David) of Fredericton Jct., Debbie Cole (Leo Hasselman) of Hampton and Cindy Barry (John) of Saint John; 14 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two brothers Leonard (Marie) and Melvin (Jean) both of Saint John; three sisters Florence Jukes of Ontario, Patricia Carpenter (Clarence) and Gail Chatterton both of Saint John; several cousins, nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by brothers Clifford, Stewart, Gerald and Kenneth and infant granddaughter Sarah Stevens. Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, (646-2424) with visitations on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Stella Maris Church on Thursday April 27, 2006 at 12 noon. Following cremation interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens Cemetery at a later date.
