GIROUARD, DONAT - At Tobique Valley Hospital, Plaster Rock, May 1, 2006, Mr. Donat Girouard of Plaster Rock, passed away at the age of 86 years. He was married to the former Alice Geneau. Born at Bouctouche in 1920, he was a son of the late Joseph and Josephine (LeBlanc) Girouard. Mr. Girouard was a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Plaster Rock Council 7076. Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Ivan (Joanne) of Fredericton and Armand of Plaster Rock; four daughters, Claudette Brown of Powell River, B.C., Josephine Rondeau (Real) of Spruce Grove, Alberta, Anita Smith (Fred) of Crombie Settlement and Lisa Dunbar (John) of Fredericton; 14 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one step great grandson; one sister, Geraldine Maillet of Moncton; three brothers, Herve (Ida) of Bouctouche, Andre (Sophie) of Saint John and Joseph (Bertha) of Massachusetts; as well as nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one son, Donald. Resting at O'Regan's Funeral Home, 515 Everard Daigle Blvd., Grand Falls with visiting hours Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. His funeral will be held Saturday, May 6th at 11 a.m. from St. Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Church, Plaster Rock, with interment to follow in the adjoining cemetery.
