DAVID AUSTIN JARDINE

JARDINE, DAVID AUSTIN - David Jardine was born March 6, 1946 in Summerside, P.E.I. and died suddenly at home on May 23, 2006. He was the much loved son of Mrs. Kay Jardine, Fredericton, and the late Rev. Austin Jardine. He is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara (Carson) Jardine and his three sons whom he loved so much: Michael and Julie Jardine of Bahrain, Daniel and Patti Jardine of Sackville, and Andrew, at present in New Zealand. He is also survived by his beloved sister, Patricia and Don Mackay of Hampton, N.B. and several nieces and nephews. He was raised in Fredericton and St. Stephen and graduated from Mt. Allison University in 1970. He taught Science, Math and Technology in Dorchester, Sackville Junior High and Tantramar Regional High School. While there, he was on the coaching staff of the football team and led several school trips to Europe. David was very active in community affairs and was treasurer of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church. He retired from teaching four years ago and since that time had enjoyed helping with the Mt. A. football team and traveling. David and Barbara had gone to France for several winter vacations as well as to Bahrain. David was so proud of his boys, being involved in their sporting and other events, spending long hours on football fields and in hockey rinks. His favorite time was that spent in the garden. He loved the growing things around him and bird watching. He was much loved by the community. Visiting hours will take place at the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville, NB (364-1300) on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will take place at the Sackville United Church on Sunday, May 28, 2006 at 3 pm, Rev. Ruth Houtby of the St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Sackville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Jardine Bursary at Mt. A., Fifth Quarter Club at Mt. A., the Christian Blind Mission, St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church or a charity of the giver's choice. www.jonesfuneralhome.ca
