WILLIAM B. REID

REID, WILLIAM B. - The death of William B. Reid, loving husband of Lena (Mitchell) Reid, occurred on Thursday May 25, 2006 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born 1924 in Centerville, NB he was the son of the late Harold and Lillian (Schriver). Bill was a letter carrier for Canada Post for 25 years retiring in 1984. He was a veteran of WWII serving as a Gunner with the Army. He was the Past President of the Royal Canadian Legion NB #1, TB Veterans; and Past President of Letter Carriers Union of Canada Local 6. Bill was an avid hockey fan of the Saint John Flames. Besides his loving wife Lena, he is survived by his children Linda Garvin (Larry), Marion Drummond, William Reid (Sharon) all of Saint John and Charles Reid (Heather) of Apohaqui; daughter in law Patty of Sussex; nine grandchildren: Shelley (Shane), Sacha, Natasha (Mike), Robbie (Kristy), BJ, Joel, Johnathan, Kyle and Cole; five great grandchildren: Quinn, Derek, Zachary, Abby, Paige and Mike; Stepmother Genevieve Wilson of Lornville, brothers Donald Reid (Carol) of Lorneville, Sterling Reid (Jean) of Whitby, Ont. and Douglas Reid (Avis) of Centerville; sisters Wanda Rodney of Richmond Hill, Ont., Delores Driscoll (Russell) of Lorneville, Eleanor Monahan (Raymond) of Grand Bay-Westfield and Edith Reid of Saint John; many cousins, nieces and nephews. Special friends Mary and Keith Morton and family and Angie Sherwood. Besides his parents he was predeceased by brothers Chester and James. Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, (646-2424) with visitations on Saturday 7-9 p.m. and Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Monday May 29, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Ocean View Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family would appreciate donations made to the Alzheimer's Society or to the charity of the donor's choice.
