JONES, IRENE G - At the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital Fredericton on May 25, 2006, Irene G. Jones of Florenceville passed away suddenly at the age of 55. Born in Fredericton the daughter of the late Fred & Ellen(Rickard) Jones. Irene graduated from Fredericton High School in 1968, NB Teachers College in 1971 with her Business Diploma from UNB with B.A. in Business in 1973, and M.Ed in 1986(NB Teachers Certificate 6) she started teaching in 1972- 5 years at Florenceville High School and over 25 years at Carleton North Senior High School in Bristol, retiring in November 2003. Irene enjoyed volunteering at the Northern Carleton Hospital, Andrew and Laura McCain Library, New Brunswick Potato Museum, Victoria County S.P.C.A , Florenceville Baptist Church and Retired Teachers Association. She also enjoyed traveling(especially to Bermuda), and she was a lover of cats. Irene is survived by uncles, Milton(Joan) Jones of Quispamsis, Frederick (Phyllis) Hughes of Fredericton, Aunts, Geraldine(Jim) Robinson of Cornwall, ON, and Olive Brown of Chipman, several cousins and her cat Askim. Predeceased by her parents and Sister Reta. Resting at the Florenceville Baptist Church on Sunday, May 28, 2006, 2-4 & 7-9PM. Funeral Service will be on Monday at 11 AM from the Florenceville Baptist Church, Rev. Charles Thompson to officiate. Interment will take place on Monday at 2:30pm in the lower Lincoln Cemetery.
