Sackville - The death of Helen Mae (nee Robertson) Lirette, 77, of Sackville, occurred peacefully at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Sunday, March 16, 2008. Born in Moncton, Helen was the daughter of the late James and Mildred (McClintock) Robertson. A wonderful mother, wife, and grandmother, Helen enjoyed tending her flower beds, reading, and knitting. Helen was a member of St. Vincent’s Roman Catholic Church, Sackville. She was formerly employed with Mount Allison University, retiring in 1994. Married in 1955, she is survived by her husband Eloi Lirette, Sackville; two sons, David (Janet) Saint John, and Jeffrey (Jennifer), Moncton; one brother, James; a sister Betty MacLean of Amherst and three grandchildren, Katherine, Caroline and Amy. She was predeceased by two brothers, Donald and Jack, and sisters, Freda and Raye. Helen’s remains have been entrusted into the care and supervision of Jones Funeral Home (70 Bridge Street, Sackville, 364-1300). A funeral mass will be held Wednesday, March 19, at 11 a.m. from the St. Vincent Roman Catholic Church, Sackville, with Father Allison Carroll officiating. Burial will be in the Sackville Cemetery in the spring. Donations in Helen’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Arthritis Society. www.jonesfuneralhome.ca
