MARIE PHYLLIS CHASE
CHASE, MARIE PHYLLIS - It is with sadness the family announces the passing of Marie Phyllis Chase at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Saturday, June 3rd, 2006 at the age of 84. Marie was born in Jemseg, NB on October 21st, 1921, the daughter of the late C. Onslow and Lily (Bailey) Purdy. Marie attended schools in Jemseg, Saint John High School and the Provincial Normal School. She spent most of her life as a caring homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. The church was a very important part of Marie's life. She was an active member of Brunswick Street Baptist Church, the Harriett Clark Chapter of WMS, Bible Study Group and the Quilting Club. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Fred; son, Rick (Sheila); daughter, Linda Fallon (Paul); grandchildren, Craig, Cynthia and Shelby; great-grandchildren, Cara, Abbey and Jack. Also surviving are sister, Isabel Shields of Victoria, BC; and brother, Tom Purdy of Halifax, NS; as well as several nieces and nephews. Marie was predeceased by her parents; her brother, Ted Purdy; and her sister, Jean Belyea. The family will receive friends on Monday, June 5th, 2006 at McAdams Select Community Funeral Home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, June 6th, 2006 at 1:00 pm from Brunswick Street Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Terry Atkinson officiating. Interment will take place at the Fredericton Rural Cemetery.
