HEFFERNAN, LYNDA ANNE - The death of Lynda Anne Heffernan of Saint John, NB occurred on Tuesday June 18, 2006 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. She died at the age of 59 following a short but courageous battle with cancer. Lynda had a career, which encompassed, teaching high school, headmistress at Netherwood School for girls and manager of the Saint John Board of Trade. At the time of her death she was employed by the Atlantic Health Sciences Corporation as a Manager of Volunteer services for the Saint Joseph Hospital. Born in Montreal, Quebec, the eldest daughter of the late James and Eileen (Mitchell) Heffernan. She is survived by her brother, Barry (Brenda) and a sister, Gayle (Micky), aunt, Muriel Heffernan and numerous cousins and a large group of caring friends as well as her beloved cat, Lady. In care of Castle Funeral Home, Fallsview Chapel, 309 Lancaster Ave. (634-1701). Mass of Christian Burial will be held from Our Lady of Assumption Church on Thursday June 22, 2006 at 12:00 p.m. followed by a reception at the Fallsview Reception Centre. Remembrances in memory of Lynda may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Saint Joseph Hospital Auxiliary or Saint John Regional Hospital Auxiliary. Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery.
