VERNA PATTERSON

PATTERSON, VERNA, - Mrs. Verna Patterson of Pleasant Avenue, Sussex, NB, passed away on June 22, 2006 at the age of 77. Born in the Head of Millstream NB, she was the daughter of the late David and Verna P. (MacAuley) MacDonald and the beloved wife of the late Lloyd G. Patterson who passed away in 1988. Verna is survived by her son, Lloyd (Doreen) of Sussex, her daughter, Donna McFarland (Doug Demmick) of Rimbey, Alberta, three brothers, Ken MacDonald (Gertrude) of Quispamsis, George MacDonald (Leona) of Sussex, Roy MacDonald (Bea) of Sussex, two sisters Ruby Morrison (David) of Gondola Point, Alice Chamber of Dartmouth, NS, her sister-in-law, Enid MacDonald of Searsville, 5 grandchildren, Tony, John (Shawna), Jennifer, Sabrina, Michael, 4 great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. Verna was predeceased by her sister Flora Armstrong, her brother Ronald and by her brother-in-law Harry Chambers. Verna was a member of St. Paul's United Church where she was a former Sunday School Teacher, a member of the UCW and an Elder. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star #33, the Pythian Sisters, the Royal Canadian Legion Sussex Branch #20 Ladies Auxiliary, the Sussex Health Centre Auxiliary, a former member of the Lower Millstream United Church UCW, a former employee of Sears Order Office and Kervs Ladies Wear. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176). Visitation will be held at Wallace Funeral Home on Friday evening from 7 to 9 pm and Saturday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The Royal Canadian Legion Branch #20 Ladies Auxiliary will hold a tribute Saturday evening at 6:30 pm, followed by tributes offered by the Order of the Eastern Star and Pythian sisters. The Funeral Service will be held from St. Paul's United Church on Sunday, June 25, 2006 at 2:00 pm., followed by a time of fellowship with the family in the Church Hall. A private family interment will take place at Trinity Cemetery.
