SACKVILLE, N.B. - Peacefully, at the Drew Nursing Home, Sackville, on Wednesday, September 12, 2007, Mary Blakney, age 92, passed away. Born in Sackville in 1914, she was a daughter of the late John and Mary Ellen (Thomson) Fagan. She was a lifelong member of St. Vincent's Roman Catholic Church and a chartered member of St. Vincent's CWL. She was an active volunteer, sewing and making clothes for the Canadian Red Cross. Mary will be sadly missed by two sons, Brian (Anna), Sackville, Neil, Chilliwack, BC; three daughters, Carol Ann (Peter) Matheson, Sackville, Mary Jane MacDonald, Dartmouth, Nora (John) Nickerson, Upper Musquodobit, NS; sister Joan (Gunner) Dziny, Souris, BC; 17 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Reynolds; sons Danny and Eric; sister Elizabeth. Arrangements were entrusted to the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville, (364-1300), where visiting hours were held Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday, September 17, 2007 from 9 a.m. until the time of departure for the Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. from St. Vincent's Roman Catholic Church, Father Allison Carroll officiating.
