Sackville, N.B. - The death of Patrick Lafford, age 65, of Sackville occurred on Tuesday, July 24, 2007, at the Moncton City Hospital. Born in Fredericton, he was a son of the late Nelson and Marie (Sampson) Lafford. A school teacher, he taught in Belleville, Ont., Grand Manan, N.B., NBCC Moncton and Sackville, N.B. at Tantramar Regional High School and Mount Allison University. He coached football and basketball for many years. He was a member of the St. Vincent's Roman Catholic Church, Sackville. Devoted to his family, he will be sadly missed by his wife, Patricia (Simon), Sackville; three sons, Joseph (Alexandra), John, and Charles (Susan Mills), all of Sackville; two daughters, Marie, and Elizabeth, both of Fredericton; three grandsons, William, Jeffrey and Thomas; three sisters, Shirley Constantino, Hamilton, Ont., Lorraine (Francis) Quinn, Rothesay, N.B., and Catherine (Leo) Holland, Belleville, Ont.; a sister-in-law, Joan Lafford, Albert Mines, N.B.; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Wilfred, Gerald, Douglas and John, and a sister Winnifred. The remains were entrusted into the care of the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge Street, Sackville (364-1300) from where visitation was held on Thursday, July 26, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral mass was celebrated from St. Vincent's Roman Catholic Church on Friday, July 27, 2007, at 11 a.m. Burial in the Parish Cemetery.
