LAFRANCE, FERNAND - Mr. Fernand LaFrance, 83, of Grand Falls, founder of F.J. LaFrance Ltd., died in hospital September 14, 2006. He was the husband of the late Mariette Poitras by first marriage and of Angela Truchon by second marriage. Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Philippe (Diane) and Gilles (Denise) of Grand Falls; two grandchildren, Marco (friend Angela) and Michelle (friend Daniel); grandson, Jesse; two sisters, Fernande Vaillancourt (late Gerard) of Van Buren, Maine and Yvonne Lapointe (Andre) of Dalhousie; one brother, Romeo (Laurette) of Grand Falls; sisters-in-law, Esther (late Onil), Marthe (late Lucien), Antoinette (late Roland) and Ghislaine (late Bertrand), as well as several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by Angela's family: three daughters, Diane Saunders, Debra Kavanaugh (Charlie) and Denise Nyborg (Jonathan); grandchildren, Monica, Joshua, Wesley, Lauren, Danika and Caleb. He was predeceased by one son, Roger; brothers and sisters, Onil, Lucien, Roland, Normand, Bertrand, Edwina and Mona. Resting at O'Regan's Funeral Home, 515 Everard Daigle Blvd., Grand Falls with visiting Sunday from 7-9 p.m. and Monday from 2-4 p.m. His funeral will be held Monday, September 18th at 4 p.m. from the Saint-Georges Roman Catholic Church, Grand Falls, with interment in the parish cemetery.
