MAGEE, RONALD LAWRENCE PAUL - It is with great sadness we announce the death of Paul, October 13, 2006 at his home in St. John's, Newfoundland. Paul was a well-known radio announcer. He started his career as a young man while still in high school with CFBC under the pen name of Chuck Webster. Following his graduation from Millidgeville North High School he continued to work for CFBC and then later moved to Prince Edward Island where he was employed with CFCY as program director. After 15 years Paul transferred to St. John's, Newfoundland to station VOCM as program director, co-hosted the morning show with Claudette Barnes as well as host of the very popular Saturday night Cabin Show. Paul was very active in his role with the radio station and was the master of ceremonies for various performances and introduced several important people. Paul's last master of ceremonies position was in June when he introduced Charlie Pride at the Sports Center in St. John's. Paul was very much involved in his community; he was President of the MS Atlantic Board, The Canadian Cancer Society, Chairman of the Police Officer of the year awards and also taught marriage preparation. He was involved with the annual Janeway Telethons as well as many other countless volunteer projects. Paul had a great respect for his fellow employees and the Steele Family of VOCM. Paul considered himself a spiritual person and had great faith. He had become good friends with Father Bill Browne and Pastors Gordon and Louise Young. Paul attended Portland United Church while living in Saint John. Paul leaves to mourn his devoted and loving wife Annette (Joyce) Magee, two sons, Mark and Peter, one daughter Tia, all of St. John's, Newfoundland. His mother Vivian M. (Freeze) Magee of West Saint John, one brother Scott (Marion) Magee, five uncles - Stanley (Rhonda) Magee, Douglas Magee, Ralph (Eileen) Magee, Walter J. (Bernice) Freeze, and Lawrence Freeze and one special cousin Marion Freeze - who he spent many happy hours with at the country home of his grandparents on the Kingston Peninsula. Paul was predeceased by his father, Ronald P. Magee, an infant brother, Mark, grandparents, James and Evelyn (Waters) Magee and Walter S. and Mary (Snider) Freeze. His family and many friends will miss Paul sadly. Interment will be in St. John's, Newfoundland on Tuesday, October 17, 2006. IN LIFE WE LOVED HIM DEARLY IN DEATH WE LOVE HIM STILL.
