OWENS, JOAN MARIE - The death of Joan Marie Owens, wife of James F. (Jim) Owens having celebrated their 52nd Anniversary on November 6, 2006, occurred on November 8, 2006 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John she was the daughter of the late Francis Xavier and Alexis E. (Fracker) Collins. She was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Church. Besides her husband, she is survived by her son, J. Michael (Joanne) of Rothesay; daughter, Alexis A. Vriezen (Christiaan) of Saint John; brother, Francis Xavier (Claire) of Saint John; grandchildren, Michael, Heather, Kathleen and Alexander and several nieces and nephews. Her brothers, Kenneth and Ralph, and sister, Margaret Perry, predeceased her. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row (634-7424), with visiting on Thursday from 7-9 pm and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, at 12 NOON, from Our Lady of the Assumption Church. Interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery.
