DELPHIS JOSEPH HICKEY

HICKEY, DELPHIS JOSEPH - Born April 24, 1921 in Belledune River, New Brunswick. Formerly of Belledune. Resided in Chatham, NB. He was the son of the late Jim and Mary Hickey. Delphis passed away on November 6th, 2006 at the Region 7 Hospital with his devoted family at his side and his beloved Rose. Husband of the late Agnes Dhont. He is survived by sons, Donald (Debbie) of Chatham, Nelson of Ottawa; daughters, Simonne of Moncton, Susan (Brian) of St. Andrew's, Linda (Robert) of Belledune, Micheline (Robert) of Chatham. Grandchildren, Todd, Brad, and Asa. Delphis is also survived by one brother, Gordon of Fredericton. He was predeceased by brothers, Claude, James, Joseph, Edward, Clifford; sisters, Emma, Mona, Celina, Ruby, Henrietta, Effie, Mary, Blanche and Ella. He was a WWII Veteran and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion #3. He was on the Belledune School Board. He held the position of Mayor in Belledune for many years. He was employed by N.B. Power & Brunswick Smelter in Belledune. Ran his own farm for many years. He continued on as a well known business man in the town of Chatham. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Visitation with family and friends will be held from Maher's Funeral Home, Miramichi on Thursday, November 9th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 10th at 11 am from St. Michael's Basilica, Miramichi. Interment in Belledune. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the New Brunswick Lung Association would be appreciated. Funeral arrangments are under the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Miramichi, NB. Telephone 773-4321
