CLARENCE HANDELAND

HANDELAND, CLARENCE - The death of Clarence Geard Handeland of Quispamsis occurred on Wednesday November 8, 2006 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Clarence who went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus joyfully to be reunited with his wife, Kathryn who passed away May 12, 2005. Born 1931 in Black's Harbour, NB, he was the son of the late Kristen and Gudren Handeland of Sauda, Norway. He was the husband of the late Kathryn (Graves) Handeland. He is survived by a daughter, Amdal Jane Cyr of Quispamsis; two grandchildren, Kristan J. and Leif J. Cyr both of Quispamsis; two sisters, Dagney Snow of Ontario and Sonja Gliona of Saint John; and several nieces and nephews and extended family in Norway. Besides his parents and wife he was predeceased by a sister, Sylvia Armstrong and brother, George Handeland. He was a member of Calvary Temple for a number of years and the Rothesay Baptist Club 60. He will be remembered for his love of music, and singing for many seniors groups, a blessing from his tapes to shut ins. Clarence was employed with Labbats Brewery, Plant Services for 31 years, retiring in 1992. Clarence and Kathryn enjoyed summering in Brewer, Maine for 10 years, in 1998 moved to Hilltop Trailer Park, Robbinson, Maine, until the fall of 2002. Many friends and ministers became a spiritual part of our life in the US. By Clarence's request there will be no visitations. A private graveside burial will take place at Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday November 10, 2006 at 3:30 p.m. from Calvary Temple, Sydney Street. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations made to the Gideon Memorial Bible Plan, Calvary Temple Building Fund or to the charity of the donor's choice.
