ALVIN EARL SHAVER
SHAVER, ALVIN EARL - Sgt. CD & Bars (Ret.RCAF/CAF), Simcoe, ON. Alvin passsed away peacefully at Norfolk General Hospital, Simcoe, ON, on November 12, 2006. He is survived by his loving family, his wife of 49 years Frances (Nancy) Shaver (Smith, Nee Noel); son Rodney and his wife Brenda of St. Anns, ON; and daughter Susan Garlough and her husband Lorne of Burlington, ON. He is also survived by five grandchildren - Leah, Patrick, and Madeline Shaver and Sarah, and Corbin Garlough; two sisters - Marie Sims (Ray) Remillard of Kelowna, BC, and Donna Sims (Charles) Ruddick of Vancouver, BC, his brother-in-law, Mike Windsor of Crystal City, MB, and several nieces and nephews. Alvin was predeceased by his parents, Gordon Shaver (1937) and Elsie Brown (Shaver) Sims (2005), and sister Beatrice Windsor (2004). Alvin was born in Crystal City, MB on June 8, 1931. He served in telecommunications in the RCAF/CAF from 1954 until retirement in 1986. During that time, he served with the NATO Forces in France for 6 years, in Inuvik and Alert, NWT and on several other bases in Canada. As per Alvin's wishes, private cremation has taken place.
