STILES, VESTA. M. (WIGGINS) - formerly of St. Stephen, died in St. Albert, AB on Nov. 16th following a brief period of failing health. She was born on Dec. 9th, 1911 in Waterborough, Queen's County, NB. She graduated from the Saint John School of Nursing in 1935. While in training she met Dr. Esmond Stiles and they married shortly after she graduated. He practised for two years in Alma before going overseas with the Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps. The family moved to St. Stephen after his return from the war. Vesta was very active in Girl Guides for many years, and served as Provincial Commissioner from 1966-1972. She moved to St. Albert in 1997 to be closer to her daughter, son-in-law and three granddaughters. She was predeceased by her husband in 1970. She is survived by one son, Dr. Gerald (Judi) Stiles of Saint John, and one daughter, Judy (Ron) Hierlihy of St. Albert; three granddaughters, Kim (Brad) Cunningham, Cristin (Cory) De La Mare, and Jillian (John) Baldassarre, all of St. Albert, as well as five great-grandchildren Emma, Noah, Sydney, Ellie and Kate.
