McIVER, DONALD M. - Donald M. McIver 79, of Moncton with his family at his side passed away peacefully at the Moncton Hospital on Monday November 27th 2006 following a brief illness. Born in River Hebert, NS he was the son of the late Merton and Greta (Meadows) McIver. Don started his career with the Bank of Nova Scotia in River Hebert, NS and later was employed with the T. Eaton Company Ltd., (over 30 years service), retiring as Eastern Canada Credit Manager. Member of First United Baptist Church, former Church Treasurer, church Usher and he served his church in various other capacities in past years. Don was Past Master of the former Salisbury Lodge# 20 F & AM and was a member of Harmony Lodge #20 F & AM, Salisbury. Member of the Past Masters Unit of Luxor Shrine, past Thricepuissant Grand Master of Moncton Lodge of Perfection, member of Britton Chapter of Rose Croix, member of the NB Sovereign Consistory, member and immediate Past Provincial Grand Master of the Royal Order of Scotland. Member of the Moncton Probus Club and the Moncton K40 Club and was a former Village Councillor of Lewisville in their last term before their amalgamation with Moncton. He was a former treasurer of the Hillsborough Station Project which over saw the construction of the original station, and he was a former member of the N.B. New Horizons Program for Seniors (Senior Model Railroad Layout). Former member of the Moncton Model Aircraft Club. He was the founder of Don's H.O. Service (model railroad supplies) and was still involved with his associate Chuck Kinney. Member of the Moncton Model Railroad Association, member of the Maritime Federation of Model Railroaders and former treasurer of the Moncton Model Railroad Society. Don was the former Project Treasurer during the Construction of Atlantic Baptist University and was the First Licensed Projectionist in Nova Scotia at the River Hebert Theatre. Don will be sadly missed by his children, Janis Collette-Durie (Ray), Turks & Caicos; David (Kim), Dartmouth, NS; Peter, River Hebert, NS; grand- children, Max and Spencer. Special friend, Marilyn Horsman, Moncton; sisters, Della Maxwell (John), Clark's Harbour, NS; Helen Bartlett (Bill), Charlottetown, PE; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his wife, Doris (Ward) (March 2001); brother, Bertram; sister, Barbara. Visitation at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995), Thursday, 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Harmony Lodge # 20 F & AM Memorial Service Thursday, 6:45 p.m. Funeral service at First Baptist Church, Queen Street, Friday, December 1st 2006, 1 p.m. Rev. Dr. Richard Jackson officiating. Reception in the Church Hall following the service.
