HELEN LOUISA KEEGAN
KEEGAN, HELEN LOUISA - Helen L. Keegan of Harvey Station, NB, widow of George Keegan and daughter of the late Charles and Teresa (Boudreau) Doyle, passed away peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital on December 1, 2006. Born on April 15, 1915 at Saint John, NB, she graduated from St. Vincent's High School and the Provincial Normal School. She had been very active in the Catholic Women's League, having served as parish council president of the Kingsclear C.W.L., a past president of the Saint John Diocesan Council, C.W.L. and Treasurer of the Provincial C.W.L. In earlier years, she was president of the Harvey Home & School Association and the Harvey Hospital Aid. She had resided in Harvey since 1953, moving there from Enniskillen at that time. Helen is survived by three daughters, Irene Keleher (Terry), Saint John, Maureen Tomalty (Robert), Hamilton, ON and Sr. Alice Keegan, Vancouver, BC; one son, Phillip Keegan (Lena Lawrence), Peterborough, ON; nine grandchildren, Richard Keleher (Ryoko), Vancouver, BC, Colleen Gazeley (Leonard), Hammonds Plains, NS, Sean Keleher (Satomi), Japan, Mark Keleher, Ottawa, ON, Rob Tomalty (Lori) and Danielle Tomalty both of Hamilton, ON, Patrick Keegan, Calgary, AB, Scott Keegan (Brigitte) and Melanie Keegan both of Saint John; fifteen great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Agnes Breen, Boston, Mass.; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She also leaves behind a very special friend, Teresa Morrison, Edmonton, AB. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by two sisters, Mary Hilton and Irene Doyle; four brothers, Fred, Joseph, John and her twin brother, Frank Doyle and her lifelong friend, Barbara Montford. Resting at Swan Funeral Home, 1826 Route 3, Harvey Station, NB with visiting hours Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Newmarket, NB on Monday, December 4, 2006 at 11 a.m. with Father David Martin officiating. Interment in St. Patrick's New Extension Cemetery.
