Warrant Officer, R.C. SIGS (Retired), 70, Truro, passed away March 18, 2008 in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in Springhill, he was a son of the late William and Jean (Mattinson) Jewkes-Wells. He joined the army in 1953 as a soldier apprentice and served 36 years. His overseas postings included Viet Nam, Laos, Cambodia (Indo-China), New Delphi, India, The Congo, Cyprus and Germany. Following his release from the Canadian Forces, he was employed at Kohler Window, Debert and the Mountain Golf Club, Truro. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Peggy (Ackles); daughters, Vicki (Steve) Bank, Vancouver; Angela (Mike) Hopper, Ottawa; sister, Linda McEwen, Truro; brother, Jack, Houston, Texas; grandchildren, Kyle, Noah and Chloe, Vancouver, Ben and Maya, Ottawa. He was predeceased by brother, Carmen. Ralph will be sadly missed by his wife, daughters, family and friends. Cremation has taken place. No visitation by request. A memorial service will be held on April 12, 2008 at 2:00 pm in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro with Rev. Larry Harrison officiating. Reception to follow the service.
