ALBERT WILLIAM FERRIS
FERRIS, ALBERT WILLIAM - The passing away of Albert William Ferris at the Veterans Health Unit, Fredericton, NB, occurred on January 7, 2007. Born May 21, 1919 in Tadley Hampshire, England. Son of Cecil and Katherine (Saunders) Ferris. He served overseas in the Second World War with the 22nd Armored Regiment Grenadier Guards in Belgium, Holland, and Germany. He worked with Crown Construction, Atmus Construction, and Mack Maritime until he retired. He was an active member of the Fredericton City Club, the Fredericton Golf and Curling Club, and The Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #4. Bert is survived by his wife Eileen (Francis) Ferris of Fredericton, two sons, Thomas A. Ferris (Lucinda) of Atlanta Georgia, Peter Ferris (Diane) of Fredericton, and one daughter Lisa Ferris (Walter) Fredericton. He is also survived by his sister Jean Young, Fredericton. His five grandchildren, Dustin, Donald, Ryan, Megan, Christopher and his two great-grandchildren, Jaimie and Brandon. He is predeceased by two sisters, Betty Bartlett and Laura Jacobson, and one brother Donald Ganong. The family wishes to thank the staff of the Veterans Health Unit for their wonderful care and compassion; as well as, support to the family. Resting at Bishop's Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road. Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 10 from 12 - 2 p.m. with funeral service to follow at 2 p.m. with Rev. Reg Miller officiating.
