GERALD J. VAUTOUR

VAUTOUR, GERALD J. - Gerald J. Vautour (60) of Saint John, died peacefully at the SJRH on January 21, 2007. He was born in Claire Fountain, Kent Co and was the son of the late Leonide and Della (Daigle) Vautour. He was a resident of Saint John for the greater part of his life. Gerald had been employed in the construction industry in Saint John for many years and was last employed with Gulf Operators. Gerald's grandfather built him a boat when he was a teenager and he began fishing lobster by himself. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching his girls play baseball, playing cards with his friends, country music, life in general and spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by four daughters, Nicole Vautour, Tammy Vautour, and their mother Anne Duguay, Rachel Poulin, Stephanie Poulin and their mother Theresa Poulin, of Saint John, two brothers, Gary Daigle (Dianne) of Saint John and Roger Blanchard (Bonnie) of Sackville, NB, two sisters, Sylvia McGrath (Sandy) and Debbie Connor (Wayne) of Saint John, seven grandchildren, Chelsea, Jesse (Jesse James), Tenesha (Tin-Tin), K-Ci, Amber, Dylan and Quintin (Quin-Quin), several nieces and nephews and special aunts and uncles and cousins and best friend Troy Zelward. He was predeceased by special grandparents Mama and Papa Daigle. Following cremation, visiting will be held at A. W. Cavanagh Funeral Home & Cremation Centre 91 Leinster Street (634-1712) on Tuesday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm and Wednesday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Cathedral of Immaculate Conception on Thursday, January 25, 2007 at 12 noon followed by internment at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
