DOROTHY CLARK
CLARK, DOROTHY - 93 of Halifax, passed away Monday, February 12th, 2007, at the QEII Halifax Infirmary. Born in St. Martins, NB, she was a daughter of the late Wendell B. Bentley and Kathleen Gillmor. She attended St. Martins School, New Brunswick Teacher's College, Dalhousie University where she received her B.A. and Mount Allison University graduating with a secretarial certificate. She worked as a secretary at Timothy Eaton's in Moncton; Bridgetown Regional High School and Mount Allison Academy. She also taught (in a one room school) in Upperton, NB, Mount Allison Academy and Commercial College; Hants North Rural High School, Kennetcook, NS, Hants East Rural High School, Milford, NS and Bridgetown Regional High School. She was a member of the United Church of Canada and active in the United Church Women, where she lived. Dorothy enjoyed tennis, bridge, golf, stamp collecting and photography. She and her husband, Robert C. Clark taught together at the high schools mentioned above. Upon retirement, they lived in Halifax and attended St. Andrew's United Church. He predeceased her in 1989. She leaves to mourn her cousin, Anne (Auriel) Dougan and her family; several other cousins; and a foster son, Jim Jennex and his family. A memorial service will be held at 2pm Saturday, February 17th, 2007 in J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 2666 Windsor St. Reception to follow in Snow's Family Reception Lounge. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to St. Andrew's United Church, Coburg Rd., Halifax, NS or Northwood Foundation.
