Joseph Collins

77, of ProTem Health Services and formerly of Dickson Blvd., Moncton, N.B., with his family at his side, passed away peacefully at his residence on Wednesday morning, July 23, 2008. Born in Placentia, N.L., he was the son of the late Reginald and Mary (Hopkins) Collins. Joe was retired from Marine Atlantic (Systems Analyst) and attended Holy Family Roman Catholic Church. He was a Life Member of Holy Family Knights of Columbus, 4th Degree Member Msgr. Roy MacDonald Assembly. He was a former Usher, Eucharistic Minister, Lector, Sacristan, Altar Server and Parish Manager; former Scout and Cub Leader; past District Commissioner of Keltic District (Nova Scotia); former member of St. Pat's Family Center Board of Directors and he was a former volunteer with many organizations in the local community. Joe will be sadly missed by his daughters: Gail Collins, Dartmouth, N.S., Carolyn Jessome (Derek), Lower Sackville, N.S.; sons: David (Catherine), Sydney Mines, N.S., Gerard (Suzanne), Moncton, N.B., Chris (Judy), Sherwood Park, Alta., Raymond (Michelle), Moncton, N.B.; grandchildren: Jonathan, Michael, Matthew, Christopher, Gail, Sean, Patrick, Meaghan, Daniel, Katelyn; great-granddaughter, Saoirse; sisters: Alice Cooper, St. John's, N.L., Rosemarie Mullins (Peter), Placentia, N.L.; brothers: Raymond (Patricia), William (Loretta), both of Placentia, N.L.; sisters-in-law: Anne Collins, Corner Brook, N.L., Theresa Collins, Placentia, N.L.; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, predeceased by his wife, Patricia Collins (1996); sisters: Adelaide, Molly; brothers: Alexander, Austin, Eugene, Reginald.
